Welcome 2024, it's the year of change and with that I am also going to be pivoting on this platform. When I started this blog, I started it with the intent to help women through burnout, and while I still fully intend to speak about that, I realized there is a much broader subject that is the 'elephant in the room' as they say, and that is our mindset. Through this journey, it has been ever apparent that our mindset truly impacts every aspect of our lives. So with that I am going to change things up and broaden our horizon's to speak about how our mindsets can change the trajectory of our future.

Recently, after far too long off the mat, I have started. up my yoga practice once again. If I am perfectly honest what got me off the mat was that yoga became a chore, I became disconnected from the purpose which originally pulled me to the mat. When I started yoga I did it for the connection to soul, to connect and listen to my inner voice and to connect to a greater power. My yoga practiced changed and seemed to be more focused on the movements and getting into poses, I was challenging myself to get better every day in the physical aspect but not the mental aspect, and that was never the intent. When I find yoga most enjoyable it is when I am fully present and connected to source energy, when I feel that greater connection to my entire being and can feel the energy run through the meridians and the chakras. I have returned to this practice, now that I am able to identify where I went and where I want to be. This was all done through mindfulness and intent. Where I am going with this is, I had to sit with myself and be truly honest with what my ego mind was pushing for (and winning at) vs. what my true inner self was really looking for. It was during one of my yoga practices, where I was 'plugged in' and in a mindful state that I realized where I needed to take this blog and my coaching practice, into shifting our mindset. My mindset had been so focused on achieving something that I was missing the point that my body just needed connection with itself and to feel through the poses not achieve the greatest eagle arms or downward facing dog.

Our mindset is a powerful tool that can either propel us forward or hold us back. The way we think about ourselves and the world around us can greatly affect the direction of our lives. A negative mindset can lead to a sense of hopelessness and stagnation, while a positive mindset can open up new possibilities and opportunities.
One way to change our mindset is to practice gratitude. By focusing on the things we are grateful for, we shift our attention away from negative thoughts and feelings. This can lead to a more positive outlook on life and a greater sense of well-being. Another way to change our mindset is to embrace challenges and setbacks as opportunities for growth. Rather than seeing failure as a roadblock, we can view it as a stepping stone to success. This requires a shift in mindset from one of fear and avoidance to one of curiosity and learning. It is also important to surround ourselves with positive influences. This can include supportive friends and family, inspiring mentors, and uplifting media. By surrounding ourselves with positivity, we can reinforce our positive mindset and continue to grow and thrive.

Ultimately our mindset has the power to shape the direction of our lives. By practicing gratitude, embracing challenges and surrounding ourselves with positivity, we can cultivate a mindset that empowers us to achieve our goals and live a fulfilling life. And that my friends is what I hope to achieve with this blog moving forward. I hope that I can be a light on a dark day and that you can find some information within these pages to settle your soul and help you along the journey you are on.
I hope you will continue on with me as we explore deeper into our mindsets and how making small micro adjustments can change your thoughts for the better. Because after all our thoughts create our feelings, which create our behaviours and those create our actions (we'll dive deeper into this in another blog).
I wish you all the best in 2024, thank you for continuing on this journey with me.
With love and light,
Leah
